We are currently seeking parties interested in filling the following positions:

Graphic Designer

Casual – 20-30 hours per week; From home and office

We are seeking a mid-level graphic designer with a focus on corporate identity design. To be considered for this position, you will meet these kinds of fun requirements:

  • Qualifications in Graphic Design or Visual Communication; or extensive experience in a commercial design environment (seriously, we will look just as favourably on awesome designers who are not qualified)
  • At least 3 years of experience in identity and print design – preferably Adobe Creative Suite (1, 2 or 3 are all fine)
  • Brilliant attention to detail, the kinds of little details that really get the motor running, you know?
  • Access to own equipment where required - at least 50% of working hours will be home-based
  • Almost inhuman love of chocolate and Monty Python
  • The ability to work well on your own, and as part of a tight-knit team
  • Exceptional communication skills and a good sense of humour

We would also love (but do not require):

  • Experience in designing for the web, especially for adapting print design for web development
  • Understanding of web standards and technologies
  • The desire to bring cake and coffee to work
  • Experience in the kinds of industries that we work for (children, gifts, homewares, etc.)

Your responsibilities will be:

  • Taking briefing information and bringing it through to finished artwork (we are happy to go over our briefing documentation and adjust it if you have requirements that aren't currently covered)
  • Liaising with clients for the purposes of revising concepts and finding out more about what they are looking for
  • Working with Anna and Will on design elements for web use

You will be working on a variety of different levels of corporate identity design and print work. Some of our clients only want their logo designed, others are seeking full company branding and print development. You should be flexible and adaptable and understand that each of these clients is as important to our business as the next!

We would like someone who can commit to 30 hours per week, but we are flexible. If you can create beautiful things in a smaller commitment of time, then by all means show us what you’re made of!

This position is a casual one, so wear jeans and get paid at a starting salary of $25/hour. Bonuses, raises and awe-struck applause will follow.

PHP/MySQL Developer

Full time – 38 hours per week; From home and office

We are seeking a full-time PHP developer to work with our already illustrious group of programmers. Whilst the final products of our work generally relate to children, babies, women, homewares and so on, there is nothing childish about our development department.

You will be working on state of the art web applications and systems that we have developed in house. In particular you will be involved in the ongoing development of our software ‘theBook’, including module development, troubleshooting, bug fixing and so on.

You will need these things in order to be considered for this position:

  • At least 5 years of experience in programming for web applications using PHP/MySQL/Javascript
  • Advanced skills in all of these areas, particularly PHP
  • The ability to work on your own or as part of a team
  • The desire to stick to deadlines and create work that is of a high quality
  • The desire to scope out ideas and take initiative in projects
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to converse with clients via phone or email when required as part of project scoping
  • Understanding of time allowances required on projects and ability to predict timeframes accurately within bounds of information provided

This is a full time position that will become a crucial part of our company. You will be responsible for continuing to bring theBook to the forefront of e-commerce development in Australia.

Please do not apply if you are not able to commit the full 38 hours per week.

Salary will be generous based on experience

To apply, please send your CV and portfolio to jobs@annaclements.com.au. We will not be looking at applications that do not include examples of previous work, so thank you for including it!
